Property owners wishing to add to savings already made by comparing commercial property insurance quotes should consider simple energy-saving measures, according to Siemens.
Lee Jones, product manager for energy management at the company believes that small and simple adjustments to buildings’ energy management systems to reflect the number of inhabitants can make big differences.
Speaking at an Energy Services and Technology Association event in Manchester recently, he also recommended limiting systems’ usage during mornings, evenings and weekends in order to cut back on costs.
Mr Jones said: "Analysing your profile can show you the abuse in your building – you are wasting money. People forget to set the building control system to reflect that there is no-one in on a bank holiday.
“If there are only a handful of people in there, then you do not need the full system running.”
Research from aspect.co.uk recently revealed that 51 per cent of London's property owners would consider installing solar power in order to save energy.
