West Hampstead Red Nose Day Events

Red Nose day is on Friday 18th March so if you want to do something funny and in the process raise some money, here are some ideas of how you can help!

Red Nose Day is here to transform the lives of the poor and disadvantaged people in the UK and Africa and provides support in various ways from helping to provide Education to tackling issues such as Malaria, Infant Health, Mental Health and funds various UK Projects - these are just a small selection of causes helped by Red Nose Day.

We are excited to say that there are lots of fundraising events going on in Schools around the local area. At the Emmanuel Church of England Primary School in West Hampstead, all staff are giving a donation to wear red clothes to School on Friday and at St Eugene De Mazenod Roman Catholic Primary School, they are selling red noses and both staff and students are giving donations to wear red clothes to school!

If you are looking for something that your workplace can take part in, then how about pay to dress down all day, or if you want to do something yourself... how about getting sponsored to wear your pyjamas all day! For the more creative you could organise a cake sale or make products to sell. You could get sponsored to give up something or do something different for the day or for the week.

London Property to Rent: Rental demand 'will outstrip supply into 2012'

The next couple of years will see strong demand for property to rent in London and other places, which will continue to outstrip supply.

This is the opinion of Chris Horne, editor at Property Hawk, who said: "Ultimately, first time buyers are still struggling to get finance and also because of the economy. There is quite a lot of uncertainty in terms of people's jobs so people tend to rent when they are not absolutely certain about the future, rather than committing to buying."

He explained: "With mortgage finance still quite difficult to get, I would imagine there is still strong rental demand," adding there is no surprise that the Association of Residential Letting Agents (Arla) is forecasting an increase.

Arla's research concluded that four in ten of its offices believe more private landlords will enter the market in the next 12 months, which will help tackle the short supply of rental properties.

London Housing Market News; Rightmove Cites a 3 Tier System

London house prices have risen by an average of 4.2 per cent in the last month, according to research from Rightmove.

The property website's House Price Index reveals that potential homeowners hunting for properties in the capital will be part of a three-tier market consisting of the low loan to value 'elite', the 'bargain-hunting bottom feeders' and the average buyer in the middle.

The middle tier is suffering from "paralysis" because of a lack of UK mortgage offers and "insufficient equity to trade up", the website said.

Miles Shipside, director of Rightmove, commented: "With lenders stating that they expect mortgage lending to remain static at around 2010 levels throughout 2011 and new seller numbers practically unchanged year-on-year, what might have been seen as a passing phase of low transaction levels in the housing market now looks set to be the norm for the foreseeable future."
