Local authorities all over Britain are targeting planning laws to control private landlords turning their properties into small Houses in Multiple Occupations – six months ahead of the time when they will be needed most.

The RLA has identified over two dozen councils invoking Article 4 directions prohibiting HMOs.

Landlords are being stymied by local authorities from attempting to offer a market solution to what homeless charities are warning could be a serious problem.

Planned changes to the Shared Accommodation Rate kick in next January and will mean that an estimated 88,000 25 to 34-year-olds on housing benefit will have to seek shared HMO accommodation, virtually all of which would be in the private rented sector.

From the New Year, changes to the rules mean that single people up to the age of 35 will no longer be able to live in their own self-contained rental flats. Instead, it will only cover shared accommodation.

But landlords who are currently renting properties out to a single household will now have to seek planning permission in a growing number of towns and cities if they want to let the same property out to three, four or five people sharing.

Local Yoga And Pilates Classes To Try

We all know how hard it is to fit our busy lives into our day and finding time for exercise classes can take a back seat! Yoga and Pilates are both a great way to keep in shape and unwind. We have found these local classes that cater for all abilities:

There are Yoga classes at the Lymington Road Residents Association, Dresden Close, NW6 with Divya. These classes are drop in so no need to pre-book - better for those of us who are less organised! The Monday class starts at 7pm and finishes at 8.15pm. The class teaches Hatha Classic Yoga which is perfect for beginners level. Hatha Classic yoga focuses on posture and is designed to make you feel open.

Wednesday's class at the same time teaches Hatha Flow yoga. This is a more advanced class and takes the basic postures and focus learnt in the Hatha Classic class and progresses to larger movements and flowing one posture into another making it a stronger and more dynamic workout. This is for the slightly more advanced.

The classes are £10 and you pay when you get there so you don't have to commit to any long term courses. Mats are provided if you do not have your own and there are also private classes available. London House Prices Set New Record

Increased seller numbers not matched by increase in purchasers’ ability to buy, resulting in biggest monthly jump in agents’ unsold stock since May 2007 – up from 70 to 74 properties per branch.
